Ingredients of Masala Dosa with Peanut Chutney

  2. You need 2 cups of Idli Rice.
  3. Prepare 1 cup of White Urad Dal.
  4. Prepare 7-8 of grains of Methi Seeds.

  9. You need 1 of large onion finely sliced.

  12. It's 1 teaspoon of Mustard seeds.
  13. You need Handful of coriander leaves.
  14. It's To taste of Salt as per taste.
  15. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Haldi / turmeric powder.
  16. You need Pinch of Hing.
  17. It's of For Peanut Chutney.
  18. You need 100-200 grams of peanuts.
  19. Prepare 2-3 of green chillies.
  20. Prepare 1/2 of " ginger.
  21. It's To taste of Salt.
  22. Prepare As needed of Water.
  23. Prepare of For tempering.
  24. It's 2 tablespoons of oil.
  25. You need 1 teaspoon of Mustard seeds.
  26. It's 7-8 of curry leaves.

It can be of two types, wet and dry. This recipe is for making wet peanut chutney for dosa and idli and it can be used either as spread or as an accompaniment. Peanut chutney or groundnut chutney made in andhra style to accompany idli, dosa & uttapam. Groundnut is just another term for peanut.

  1. Wash and Soak rice and dal separately for about 7 8 hours or overnight. Add methi seeds to it..
  2. Now grind them in mixer separately. Add salt as per taste. Then put both of them in one Steel Dabba..
  3. Mix the batter well for 10 mins..
  4. Close the lid and keep it for fermenting in warm place. U can cover it with bedsheet..
  5. After fermenting it will be as in pic..
  6. For Aloo Masala. Take one kadai. Put little oil. Oil when heated at mustard seeds. When it splutters add onion and green chillies..
  7. Saute till translucent. Now add boiled potatoes and mix well..
  8. To it add curry leaves, salt and Haldi. And mix it..
  9. For garnishing add coriander leaves..
  10. For Chutney.. take peanuts, green chillies, ginger salt and water as required and grinde well in mixer..
  11. Take it out in a bowl and keep one small kadai or vagara for tempering. Add oil and mustard seeds and curry leaves and pour over chutney..
  12. Now for Dosa..take the required amount of batter in pot. Add few drops of water. Don't make it watery..
  13. Keep tawa for on gas..
  14. Spread dosa batter on tawa..
  15. Add one teaspoon oil. Over it. And wait till it is golden brown. Add masala to it..
